Kelly Nall

Artist Kelly uses his woodcrafting skills to produce unique pyrographic and engraved artwork. Many of his pieces are created using reclaimed or repurposed materials.  He began woodworking as a young child with his grandfather who had all the tools to create anything grandpa could imagine (and about 60% of the things Kelly could). Kelly started woodburning in his early teens and has expanded his pyrographic knowledge steadily over the last 40 years.  His older brother, Mike, was a huge fan of fantasy and science-fiction books, television and movies, and shared a stack of either comic books or paperbacks with Kelly nearly every payday.  It’s no wonder that he became a great fan of these genres, just like his brother.  Kelly found that his best work came from these subjects, so much of his work is done in these styles. He produces fantasy, sci-fi, Norse, horror and superhero art as well as some art reminiscent of the golden age of Fantasy Role-Playing games such as Dungeons & Dragons. He also creates primitive Viking rune jewelry from hardwoods and exotic woods.  Kelly says “In this day and age, we are at the most one degree of separation from magic, robots, wizards and starships. Either you love dragons, or you know someone who does!”
